The main question to be asking is "Have you used AI before?"
10:40-11:10
Introduction to AI, opportunities and risks, creativity and future careers. Followed by live polling via PADLET

This is where the students will be using MENTIMETER
They will answer two questions:
When I say “AI,” what’s the first word that comes to mind?
Which best describes how you have used AI so far?
11:10-11:30
See AI tools in action: writing, image generation, design. Mini-poll on which tools excite students most
Duration: 20 minutes Tools: Variety of AI Tools (see below and on screen)
Alec Couros will walk them through different AI tools for different tasks.

11:30 – 11:45
Explain the marketing campaign challenge, form teams of 4-5, select a product from six options, and distribute planning worksheets. Quick Q&A before lunch
Duration: 15 minutes Format: Instructions + Team Activity
This is why we were encourging students to sit in groups of four
If they haven't alreading log into a laptop, get them to do so now.
There is only about 50 laptops, so not everyone will have one.
They will also need the handout "Team Planning Worksheet". There is a paper copy and digital copy for them.
11:45–12:30
Students enjoy lunch while exploring AI tools at station setups.
Duration: 45 minutes Format: Hands-On Exploration + Informal Learning
We will get students to go get lunch a little early (hopefully)
They can also checkout the tools at the bottom of the webpage
Encourage them to check out the tools
They can use their FHQTC.NET email to "log in" to the tools. They should click on the "Google" or Microsoft" option and log in through their FHQTC.NET account.
12:30–2:00

If students are stuck, and you don't know...ask ChatGPT to help them out.
This is the bulk of the symposium, but there will be times to answer the MENTIMETER...redirect Teams to pause and do the MENTIMETER
Sow the seed to present at the end of the day, by encouraging groups that you think would be willing to present their product.
2:00–2:30
Each team delivers a 3-minute pitch (30 seconds on product + 2.5 minutes on marketing angle).

Initially, I was going to get every group to present their products but I decided we would only do three or four groups.
Encourage groups that you worked with to present if we aren't getting volunteers.

Celebrate student work and facilitate critical thinking discussion about AI bias, authenticity, and responsibility
